FLAME · Feasibility, Localization, Analysis, Modeling & Experimentation
FLAME brings ultrasound neuromodulation teams together to share compatible experiments—even when their devices target different brain regions. Split the cost and receive organized, quality-reviewed data.
Our own computational model, DTUSN, adds a planned layer of validation for suitable projects: comparing measurements with simulated neuronal responses to flag discrepancies for review.

View a sample outlineTHE DTUSN MODEL
Our DTUSN (Digital Twin for Ultrasound Stimulation of Neurons) research model simulates how ultrasound can affect neuronal activity by combining acoustic fields with a biophysical neuron model.
For suitable projects, FLAME plans to compare measured results with DTUSN simulations. You receive the comparison, its assumptions, and any discrepancies that need review.
DTUSN is a research prototype. Model agreement does not establish biological validity or safety.

Examine where observations and model outputs agree or differ.
Document assumptions, discrepancies, and limitations.
The paper combines k-Wave pressure fields, confocal-derived morphology, and a multicompartment NEURON model. Calibration is limited, pressure-to-voltage coupling is simplified, and the CNN prediction layer remains under development.
The separate runnable Hodgkin–Huxley simulator is illustrative, not the complete paper pipeline. Each comparison must identify the model version and calibration, and distinguish simulated outputs from measured data.
It is the study of how sound waves influence neural activity through interactions with neuronal membranes and ion channels. Researchers investigate how responses change with acoustic parameters. Read the ITRUSST research resources ↗
Tell us what data you need. We look for a shared scope and handle coordination and review.
We identify which measurements can serve you and other customers.
Review deliverables, data rights, and your portion of the study cost before paying.
We coordinate qualified providers and the agreed measurement, calibration, and data-quality checks.
Receive organized data and completed analysis, plus a DTUSN comparison where suitable.
Your quote separates shared study costs, FLAME’s coordination and review fee, and any work specific to your project. Required contracts and approvals come before execution.
RESEARCH OPTIONS
Use existing evidence, join a compatible shared study, or scope specialist work. Choose the data depth and equipment your question needs.
For independent researchers and students. Start with data review or planning.
Review existing evidence before funding an experiment.
Pool compatible bench or phantom measurements with other customers.
Scope advanced equipment, shared measurements, and any dedicated work.
All projects require a custom quote and provider availability check. Nonprofits can request a budget-conscious scope.
START A PROJECT
Describe the data you need so we can assess a shared study and quote your portion. Creating a brief is free.
FLAME is in early development. A brief does not book a study or take payment.
Individual access is for learning, data review, and planning. Human brain-stimulation experiments require an appropriate qualified setting and oversight.
No. Participants receive only the data covered by the agreed scope and access rights. Company-specific inputs and proprietary results are not automatically shared.
The study scope defines calibration, controls, repeatability or other relevant checks, and acceptance criteria. You receive those checks and their limitations. A reviewed dataset or DTUSN comparison does not by itself prove clinical safety or effectiveness.
Provider relationships, capabilities, availability, and approvals must be confirmed before a project is accepted.
